Radioplayer Cloud 2.0: The Next Evolution

Radioplayer continues to evolve and improve! After transitioning from the old, single territory infrastructure to our centralised, cloud-based platform shared by all territory partners (Cloud 1.0), we're now excited to announce the launch of Radioplayer Cloud 2.0.

Radioplayer’s latest platform represents a complete architectural redesign, that now runs entirely on AWS serverless technologies. This creates an automatically scalable system that adjusts to demand without manual intervention, ensuring optimal performance even during peak usage periods.

This significant upgrade will enable us to:

  • Develop and deploy new features more rapidly

  • Provide you with dramatically improved performance

  • Deliver a more reliable platform built for long-term scalability

  • Offer enhanced extensibility through our redesigned API architecture

Station Management

All your users, stations, and podcasts have been migrated to the new Cloud 2.0 platform. We've ported all user accounts from Cloud 1.0 to Cloud 2.0 to continue working in the same way.

To access the Cloud 2.0 platform, just navigate to as usual:

Simply enter your email address and password to log in.

Managing Your Stations

All your stations are available to manage from this interface. We've migrated all station information, including logos and streams. With Cloud 2.0 all stations are still identified by the Radioplayer Unique ID or RPUID.

When you log in, you will still all your stations and podcasts in the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. For a more comprehensive understanding, detailed information is available in the . There's nothing further for you to do until you need to make changes to your stations.

Technical Improvements in Cloud 2.0

Our migration from Cloud 1.0 to Cloud 2.0 includes several significant technical enhancements:

  • Database Upgrade: We've transitioned from MySQL to PostgreSQL, delivering substantial performance improvements and more robust data management capabilities.

  • Logical Database Design: The underlying database entities have been reorganised to follow a more intuitive and efficient structure, making future expansions more straightforward.

  • Lower Latency: Our API endpoints have been re-engineered to significantly reduce latency - particularly noticeable in the Now Playing functionality.

  • Extensible API Architecture: The new API design allows for easier integration with third-party services and future Radioplayer offerings.

  • Redesigned CMS: The content management system features a more streamlined and responsive interface based on React Admin with an improved workflow organisation.

These improvements will collectively ensure that Radioplayer Cloud 2.0 delivers superior performance, reliability, and scalability for all our partners.
